How whichphone works

  1. Sign in with GoogleAuthenticate securely using your Google account. whichphone requests only the Gmail permissions needed to read and move emails on your behalf.
  2. Review your categoriesYour dashboard shows how many emails you have in each category — spam, social, and newsletters — so you know exactly what will be affected.
  3. Clean with one clickClick "Move all to trash" on any category to move those emails to Gmail trash. Nothing is removed until you confirm the action yourself.
  4. Sign out when doneYour access token is cleared when you sign out. We do not keep a copy of your emails or maintain a permanent account.

Gmail access

When you connect Gmail to whichphone, the app requests Google account permissions only to provide inbox organization features described on this page.

Modify access (gmail.modify)

Used to read Gmail category counts, show email previews, and move emails to Gmail trash only when you explicitly click a cleanup action. whichphone never performs modifications automatically without your confirmation.

Email address (userinfo.email)

Used to display your email address in the whichphone dashboard so you can confirm which Google account is connected.

Privacy & security

whichphone uses Google OAuth 2.0 and the Gmail API. Your access token is stored in an encrypted HTTP-only cookie for your session only. We do not sell your data, run ads, or build user profiles.

whichphone' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside the inbox organization features described on this page.

  • userinfo.email is used to display the connected Google email address in your dashboard.
